To Find an Event:

You can use any one of these 3 search criteria or any combination of the 3

Select a Month for which you are looking for the event.
If you want to find an event or see what is happening in the area on a specific date select the month for which you want to find an event. You will see all of the events for that month. (By selecting All Dates the events scheduled for the next 12 months will show, sorted by month). Click Search.

Select the Type of Event you are looking for.
You have the option of selecting several event types. To select more than one type of event, hold down the ctrl key and click on all of the event types in which you are interested. (If you choose All Events the events scheduled for the next 12 months will appear, sorted by month). Click Search.

Select the Event Area in which you are looking for an event.
You have the option of selecting several areas. To select more than one area, hold down the ctrl key and click on each community for which you would like to see the scheduled events. (If you choose All Areas you will see the listing of the types of events chosen for the date chosen in all of the areas listed. These will be sorted by month). Click Search.

To see a details of the Event, click on the event and a window showing details of the event will open. There is an option to print these details

There is also a "print feature" link at the bottom of the calendar that will allow you to print details for multiple events



To Submit Your Event:

Click Add Your Own Event
Enter your name and address

Select the Date of Event
Using the drop down menu select the date your event will take place if it is a one day event.

If it is a continuing event held on successive days, select the ending date from the drop down menus.

If your event is scheduled for more than one day, but not successive (for example every Monday for 3 weeks) enter the event using the first date it is scheduled, click send event. Use your back button and leaving the information, change only the date, click send event and repeat for each time the event is scheduled.

Select the Type of Event
Using the drop down menu select the event type.

You may choose more that one event type. For example if you are holding an Easter Egg Hunt, you may select Festivals/Celebrations, and Holiday. To do this hold the control key down while making a second selection.

Calendar Type of Events Examples:

Arts/Culture
       – Heartland Symphony, Grassroots Concerts, Arts & Crafts Shows
Chambers of Commerce
       – Member meetings, Annual Dinner, Committee meetings
Clubs/Organizations
       – Rotary, Sertoma, AA, Cancer Network, Newcomers
Community Services
       – Bloodmobile, Clean-up Day, Bookmobile
Continuing Education
       – Community Education, CLC, Business Training/Workshops
Festivals/Celebrations
       – Bean Hole Days, Nisswa Days, Ruttgers Oktoberfest, IceFest, 4th of July
Government
       – City Meetings, Voting
Holidays
       – Official Holidays
Recreation/Sports
       – CBIR, SnoCross, Bar Harbor Ice Golf, Golf Tournaments
Schools
       – School calendars, special events



Select the Area where your event will take place
List only the city or cities, where the event is actually being held

Enter the Name of the event:
In the example of the Easter Egg Hunt, enter My Town Easter Egg Hunt or Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt, etc.

Enter Subject
Under subject put a brief description of the event, or special instructions.
In the example of the Easter Egg Hunt you might add that there are separate categories for each age group, and/or that all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Enter Details
Under User Event Location you will want to put the exact location of the event.
Using the Easter Egg Hunt Example, you might enter On the White House Lawn

Link text would be words to describe why someone would want to go to a different web site.
Examples would be ‘For more information’, ‘For directions to the Event Location’ or ‘to find out more about the Egg Society’.

Link Location is for the full web address of the web site you wish to link to.
Your link should read: www.website.com

Use the Notes fields to add any special note or instruction that you wish to include.

You will want to keep in mind that descriptions that are lengthy are often passed over for something briefer, but that you will need to include all of the necessary information for the user who knows nothing about the event.

Click Send Event.

Your event is submitted to the administrator of the web site, and you will be notified by email whether or not your event has been approved for inclusion on the calendar of events.
